The commercial adventure of Igüs Family in Kapalıcarsı (the Grand Bazaar) has started with Grandfather Şükrü Igüs (1902-1959), 80 years ago (1925). He began with a variety of clothes and fabrics of these clothes used in all over Anatolia, in a small shop on Yağlıkçılar Avenue. In the following years the primary support to Şükrü İgüs, who continued his career successfully, has come from Orhan İgüs (1928-1998), who has chosen to work in his fathers business. Orhan İgüs, starting business in 1945, had kept the same business till his death. Continuing his work passionately without having a problem for 43 years, Organ İgüs has gathered a rich knowledge about the cloth and finery culture of Anatolian folk. In the years of 1990's, along with dry goods and notions business, he also dealt with 'scarfs' which means the foundation of 'İGÜS EŞARP'. After the death of Orhan İgüs, his wife Türkan İgüs, his children: Hüseyin İgüs, Emin İgüs and Şükrü İgüs took over his business and preferred to concentrate on 'scarf and shawl' and started production. Besides their shop in Kapalıçarşı, they have extended their scope of work with the workshop they founded in Bursa. With the second millennium, they got in touch with India, preeminent producer of shawls, and started import. In the year 2004 they signed a cooperation agreement with one of the most prestigious firms of India and by this way, they had the word in manufacturing process and variety selection in this country. Offering over 1000 varieties of 'scarf and scawl' to its customers, İGUS EŞARP exports to many European countries, especially to Italy and France.
